Brussels sprouts. Something I didn’t like when I was young, I should believe my mother. But I can’t remember that I ever ate Brussels sprouts when I was little so I honestly wouldn’t know it.
Maybe it’s just a thing you know, kids don’t like Brussels sprouts. Brussels sprouts are ‘yuck’ so kids don’t eat it.
But now I know better. You too? Because
I posted the recipe for this summery gazpacho on my Dutch blog a little over a year ago. We just moved to LA and I wrote about eating dinner on our balcony.
In the Netherlands, you don’t get that many summer days when you can eat your dinner in the garden or on the balcony. So when you dó get a summer day you grab your chance and you head out.
I never really liked vegetables. Growing up I remember I always picked out those tiny bits of onion in the pasta sauce. And vegetables always had to come with some kind of sauce for me to like them. Well ‘like’ them… I mean to eat them.
I also remember trying zucchini as a child. A friend of my mom had homegrown them so she gave some to us.
I didn’t like it. Well in fact I didn’t like them at all. I think they tasted like nothing and the texture was way to ‘snotty’.
Oh my, I shouldn’t be telling this to you.
